Dragon Ball Daima is a Japanese anime miniseries produced by Toei Animation and marks the sixth animated installment in the legendary Dragon Ball franchise. It’s also the final series written by the franchise’s original creator, Akira Toriyama, before his passing in March 2024. Set after the events of the Majin Buu Saga from Dragon Ball Z, the story picks up as Goku and his friends finally enjoy some well-deserved peace after their hard-fought victory.
But their respite is short-lived. Unbeknownst to them, their battle against Buu has drawn the attention of Gomah, a sinister being who has crowned himself King of the Demon Realm following the death of its former ruler, Dabura. Aligning himself with Degesu—an envious younger brother of the Supreme Kai—Gomah devises a plan to eliminate any future threats. By stealing Earth’s Dragon Balls, the two villains call upon the eternal dragon Shenron and make a chilling wish: to transform Goku and his allies back into children, stripping them of the immense power that defeated Majin Buu.
As if that weren’t enough, Gomah abducts Dende, Earth’s current guardian, leaving the planet in even greater peril. But Goku refuses to be defeated by his new form. Determined and adaptable, he trains his child-sized body to fight with the same skill and strength he had as an adult. Teaming up with the Supreme Kai and Glorio—a mysterious demon with unclear loyalties—Goku embarks on a daring journey into the Demon Realm. Their mission: rescue Dende, defeat Gomah, and find a way to restore their true forms before it’s too late.
